They came in the thousands in search for a higher ground,
Crops and villages were plundered,
Hope became a mystified fragile memory,
Silence and loneliness was their time forsaken gift and companion,
Scared timidly amongst the sea of dreaded crimson flames,
Heat-stricken frustration,
